Peculiarities pronouncing British

Peculiaridades pronunciando el Británico

In all those words beginning by –ps the initial “p” is not pronounced at all, it remains mute.

En todas aquellas palabras que empiezen por –ps,  la “p” inicial no se pronuncia bajo ningún concepto, permanece muda.

  psychiatrist            psychic              psycho        psychology        psychological,
 /saɪˈkaɪətrɪst/         saɪkɪk/           saɪkəʊ/      /saɪˈkɒlədʒɪ/     saɪkəˈlɒdʒɪkəl/

Words beginning with /s/plus a consonant are difficult to pronounce and many people spend the /e/ sound before the/s/ without realizing.

Las palabras que empiezan con una /s/ más una consonante son difíciles de pronunciar y mucha gente emplea el sonido /e/ delante de /s/ sin darse cuenta.

Spending all your money in spring will make you stay at home.
  /ˈspendɪŋ/                         /sprɪŋ/                       /stei/
